Cornerstone Partners is the first Angel Investor Network exclusively focused on investing in UK based black-owned businesses. Cornerstone: 2.0 is a brand new nine-week program for 25 Black-only businesses to significantly grow their network of investors, expand their business operations and absorb cutting-edge knowledge over a period of 9-weeks. 

Cornerstone 2.0 will run at the prestigious Level39 in Canary Wharf with sweeping views of London and will be the UK’s first scale-up program designed exclusively for emerging businesses run by black founders aiming to catapult their ventures to the next level of growth. We’re making history.
Delivered over 9 weeks, Cornerstone 2.0 combines advanced business training from serial entrepreneurs and renowned speakers, expert support and coaching to help growth-stage ventures accelerate their success. Cornerstone Partners have invested over £250,000 within the last year into private black-owned and are specifically looking for black ventures which are SEIS/EIS qualified that require under £100K to grow within the next 12 months. 
Two hours of networking coaching, mentoring, advice in-person, each week in the evening for 9 weeks culminating in a final pitch day (demo day) is what it takes.

If you are successful in being invited onto the program, you will be asked to pay an administration cost of £199. This money is used to ensure the program is coordinated well and the participants remain committed. That's an average of £12.45 an hour contribution to accelerating your business' success.

Cornerstone: 2.0 is best suited to growing UK based ventures less than 7 years old or SEIS/EIS qualified, who have an annual turnover of approximately £50K+, have 2 or more members of staff and are seeking equity investment or loan finance in the next 6-12 months.

Cornerstone Partners is the first Angel Investor Network focused exclusively on investing in UK based businesses, owned and run by black founders.

In 2018 we grew from 6 partners to 20 partners and within a year our AUM grew from circa. > £30,000 to > £500,000 with a clear path to reaching >£1m in early 2020.  We're excited to be partnering with Foundervine to host Cornerstone: 2.0 for growth-stage ventures seeking funding. Who are Cornerstone Partners?

Cornerstone Partners is a unique limited liability partnership consisting of 20 equal partners. They currently have over £500,000 in assets under management and have managed to raise this capital purely through investments and self funding. They are now on track to turn their £500,000 AUM into £750,000 before the end of the year and >£1M by early 2020.


They have invested approximately £250,000 into private black owned businesses since they expanded to 20 partners in early 2018 and collectively the partners represent various different industries including: Private Equity, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Technology and Professional Services to name a few.


Many of their members sit on executive boards and the group have significant professional and director level experience in the following:


  • Tier 1 Investment Banking helping clients raise money in capital markets issuing debt or selling equity in the companies

  • Private Equity and Venture Capital financing providing funds to small, early-stage, emerging businesses that are deemed to have high growth potential, or which have demonstrated high growth in terms of number of employees, annual revenue, or both

  • Entrepreneurs in technology start ups, internet, software, hardware, tools, fashion and beauty, food and beverage franchises and Fin-tech technologies supporting apps

  • Professional services / Legal focusing on corporate/M&A, capital markets, litigation, banking and finance, restructuring and insolvency, antitrust and tax.

  • “Big Four” Managing Consultancy / Advisory within Capital Markets and Asset Management focusing on Target Operating Model Design (TOM), Cost optimisation and Operational transformation capabilities

What will Cornerstone 2.0 do for my business?

Your team will embark on a nine-week program with a cohort of entrepreneurs. You will receive training on:

If successful, will I receive funding from Cornerstone 2.0?

Funding is obviously a critical element for the success of your venture.  

Cornerstone 2.0 is designed to give you education and development so that the business is capable of attracting investment. Foundervine (delivery partner) or Cornerstone Partners (Angel Network) will not organise the fundraising but will be able to support you through the fundraising process. 


We provide you with all of the tools to build a great business but your passion and drive are the key ingredients.

Our program ends with a Demo Night which gives you the opportunity to tell your story to a room full of key stakeholders. 

What does the program cost?

The cost of the program is over £2,250. We are pleased to be able to offer the program at £199 per venture thanks to subsidies provided through the Cornerstone Network and Foundervine. Payment will be due within 14 days of confirmation of your place on the program.

Do I need to live in London to apply?

No, we are keen to build a UK-wide cohort. However, you will need to travel to central London at least once a week for the duration of the program.
