Why this programme
In 2022 we continue to see a lack of diverse leaders in STEM-related industries. Though the numbers are increasing, there is not enough support or advocacy for Black women and non-binary people wanting to either begin their career in technology or pivot into a new subject area. Post pandemic trends show that many women across the UK were exploring new learning opportunities and taking virtual classes like coding and web development. Still, the overall retention rate across companies and opportunities is low due to the lack of direct support and understanding.
We believe learning has no age or gender. The creation of a bespoke program that works to build both technical and soft skills in women and non-binary people who identify as Black will go a long way to eradicating some of the barriers faced in the tech space.
